She built her first guitar when she was 13 years old. At the 1998 Guild of American Luthiers Convention she received a standing ovation for her first lattice braced guitar. The quality of craftmanship and physical beauty of Joshia’s creation hits you at the moment you open the case. The details, french polish quality, woodworking, and choice of materials are all superb. 

This guitar has very strong and balanced sound. No wolf notes or weak notes could be found. It has extremely fast response, but with long sustain. The range of color and contrast is amazing, near the bridge it has explosive ‘raspy bite’ sound almost like a flamenco guitar, and near the soundhole (tasto area) it has very warm and round tone like an elegant classical guitar.

Playability is excellent with a very easy set up and twisted fingerboard. Overall, a very musical and very powerful guitar, together with excellent craftmanship and playability, makes this instrument as the one of the best concert guitar available in the market today.

Furthermore, Joshia probably is the most successful female luthier in history. Her waiting list now expanding to more than 15 years and currently permanently closed.
