He specializes in crafting all of Contreras’ top models, including the Double Tapa and Anniversary Model. Beginning his luthier training at the age of 14 in 1983, he was guided by his uncle, Alfredo Lagunar, who was the first officer of the Contreras workshop.

Following the death of Manuel Contreras (Contreras I), Lagunar continued to collaborate with Pablo Contreras (Contreras II) until Pablo’s sudden death in 2011. After Pablo’s passing, Lagunar maintained an exclusive brand contract, crafting all of Contreras’ premier models in his workshop for four years (2011-2015).

In 2015, Lagunar chose to leave the renowned Contreras workshop to establish his own brand. This decision allowed him to focus on achieving the highest quality and to develop his unique construction methods. His guitars are known for their powerful sound and excellent responsiveness, with body resonance typically around F#, resulting in deep, sonorous bass and clear, transparent trebles. Aesthetically, his guitars embody the traditional ‘Madrid style’ with rich, beautiful purfling.
